HDH Productions is an independent multimedia production studio founded by Håvard Windingstad in 2014.
The studio specializes in micro- and macro-budget production: developing practical methods for turning ideas into finished work at any scale. Its productions combine visual art, music, video, web development, interactive media, 3D, and technical design.
HDH Productions primarily creates and publishes Windingstad’s own work, including Terror Inc. and the developing DreamEngine platform.
DreamEngine is an experimental multimedia platform for planning, building, and simulating dreams.
It is being developed as both a project planner and a simulation engine. The project brings together websites, games, 3D environments, animation, audio, interactive storytelling, communication systems, and production tools within one modular framework.
The central idea is that a dream can be treated as a structured project. It can contain places, characters, media, rules, tasks, communities, and connected systems. DreamEngine provides the tools and infrastructure needed to design these elements, understand how they interact, and gradually turn an idea into something functional.
DreamEngine is not limited to fictional worlds or games. It is intended as a general system for developing creative projects, testing ideas, coordinating production, and presenting interactive experiences.
HDH Productions develops the software, plugins, prototypes, visual systems, and technical experiments behind DreamEngine. The related GitHub projects document the practical work being done to build and deliver the platform.
dreamengine.site presents DreamEngine as its own project: what it is, what it is currently dreaming, and how it is developing.
Terror Inc. is an experimental role-playing project founded in 2014. It combines visual art, music, storytelling, game systems, mythology, satire, and interactive media within a single fictional universe.
The project is built on the principle of TerrorArt: using discomfort, chaos, fear, contradiction, and ego destruction as creative tools. TerrorArt does not exist simply to shock. Its purpose is to confront ideas that are difficult to approach directly, strip away false certainty, and use the resulting disruption to create something new.
Within the project, this principle becomes part of the role-playing experience. Players move through systems, identities, factions, and competing versions of reality. The world is designed to be interpreted from several perspectives at once: as fiction, satire, mythology, psychology, social commentary, and game structure.
HDH Productions develops and documents the practical work behind Terror Inc., including its artwork, music, software, publishing systems, and connection to DreamEngine.
terror-inc.com presents the project from inside its own universe. It is where the world, characters, lore, and role-playing material speak for themselves.
The GitHub projects document the practical development work carried out by HDH Productions.
They include WordPress plugins, interactive media tools, animation systems, audio experiments, 3D components, prototypes, and other technical projects developed in support of DreamEngine and Terror Inc.
These repositories are not separate from the artwork. They are the production tools and building blocks used to turn the ideas behind the projects into functional systems.
Some projects are complete tools, while others are experiments, early prototypes, or individual components intended to become part of a larger framework. Together, they provide a transparent record of the studio’s development process and demonstrate that DreamEngine and Terror Inc. are actively being built.
The GitHub projects show how HDH Productions approaches multimedia production: by creating the tools required for the work rather than limiting the projects to existing software.
